It’s the beginning of a new era for Steve Hansen’s men, as they tackle the Welsh in the 2016 Steinlager Series.
The series is heading towards a sell-out, and the atmosphere will be electric. With the Welsh looking to snatch their first victory over the All Blacks in 63 years, and a new look All Blacks team, there will be no shortage of drama as the series unfolds.
2016 is also a special year for Steinlager, marking 30 years since first signing its iconic sponsorship of the All Blacks back in 1986. The partnership is New Zealand’s longest standing sports sponsorship, and one that is guaranteed through until at least 2020.
Steve Tew, New Zealand Rugby Chief Executive, says: “We’ve enjoyed and celebrated many of New Zealand rugby’s greatest moments with Steinlager so we’d like to thank them for their unwavering support over the past 30 years.”
Make no mistake, this Welsh team will be here to win. Fresh from a bruising defeat to England in the Six Nations final, Warren Gatland’s men have been coming out firing.
Michael Taylor from Steinlager said before first kick off: “Steinlager is extremely proud to once again partner the All Blacks as they take on the Welsh in the June Steinlager Series. We’re incredibly proud of our 30 year sponsorship of the team and cannot wait for the series to kick off.”
