Texas Chicken New Zealand opened its second Rotorua restaurant late last year and to mark the occasion they have custom designed a chicken burger especially for Rotorua. The popular fried chicken brand has launched an online survey asking Rotorua locals to share their thoughts on what their official regional burger should look and taste like. They are also being encouraged to drum up support for their favourite ingredients by posting on the Texas Chicken Facebook page.
The Rotorua chicken burger is expected to appear on menus in next month and will be available for a limited time from both Texas Chicken Fairy Springs and Texas Chicken Te Ngae Rd.
Both Texas Chicken Fairy Springs and Texas Chicken Te Ngae Road gave away a year’s supply of fried chicken to one lucky winner, along with other spot prizes on their December 14 opening day.
Both restaurants are serving up the full high-quality Texas Chicken menu, including its hand-battered, freshly cooked chicken pieces, burgers, wraps, a variety of sides and its world-famous honey butter buns.
“We’ve had such a fantastic welcome from Rotorua so far that we wanted to go above and beyond for this second opening,” explains Texas Chicken New Zealand Country Manager, Allan Simons. “Designing a special chicken burger just for Rotorua is our way of saying thank you. We are really looking forward to seeing what people come up with and how we can translate that into a great regional burger. We hope people have fun with it and obviously enjoy the results once we launch the Rotorua burger in a few weeks!”
