Kiwi-owned salad and juice bar, TANK is excited to announce a new menu that has been developed in response to global food trends, and local customer requests.
After seeing an emphasis on health and wellbeing sweeping the world, the locally owned salad and juice bar is introducing some innovative new offerings to its menu – which rolls out across the 75 TANK stores nationwide September, starting with Ponsonby on September 1st.
The new menu welcomes raw and paleo options, and features four new flavours of salad and wraps. TANK fans can now choose from Japanese-inspired ‘Tank Tokyo’, the ‘Vietnamese’, ‘Paleo Active Greens’, ‘Wild Child’ and the ‘Modern Caesar’. And not only do customers now have a greater choice in salads and wraps, TANK are also pleased to offer free-range chicken and eggs.
As well as the new salads, TANK is introducing a range of Raw Plant Smoothies – ‘Rawesome Greens’, ‘Berry Hipster’, ‘Health Nut Protein’, ‘Glow’, ‘ Unbeetable’, ‘Smooth Havana’ and the ‘Power Plant’ – and new breakfast options like the ‘Fitness Bowl’, and the ‘Organic Acai Energy Bowl’.
“TANK has always offered a fantastic range of healthy, great tasting and affordable salads, juices and smoothies, but we felt it was time to incorporate certain food trends that are here to stay,” says TANK Commercial Manager, Chris Larcombe. “We want to encourage Kiwis to choose plant-based. Customers are becoming more discerning about what they like to eat, so it’s important we have raw, paleo and free range offerings.”
But never fear, TANK lovers can rest assured that their old favourites are still on the menu, albeit with a twist – or should that be ‘choice’. Customers can now choose to swap the frozen yoghurt base in their favourite TANK smoothie for a plant-based option – meaning an increased serving of fruit or vegetables for the day.
TANK will also introduce a brand new $14.90 combo consisting of ANY Salad or Wrap + ANY mini Juice. This has to be the freshest, tastiest and most nutritious meal available in NZ for under $15.
The new menu comes as the Kiwi owned company announces rugby man-of-the-moment, Beauden Barrett as its ambassador. “TANK has always been a favourite of mine – the salads, juice and smoothies contain the nutrition I need to perform at my best, and they taste great too!” says Barrett. “It’s also awesome to represent a New Zealand born and bred company, focused on delivering better food options for Kiwis, especially the young ones who need to learn how important it is to eat healthy.”
“Beauden is such a great fit for TANK, he is passionate about healthy eating, and given he was already a massive fan, we thought we should make it official!” says Larcombe.
