Scenic Hotel Group wins Environmental Program Award

Scenic Hotel Group has received the esteemed Environmental Program Award in the 2024 HM Awards -Aotearoa Pacific General Award category.

Richard Hayman, Head of Property and Environmental Policy Advisor accepted the award on behalf of the Group, stating the award underscored the Group’s dedication to preserving the natural beauty and resources of the region. “This award is a testament to our ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility across all our New Zealand and Pacific properties,” said Mr Hayman.

Additionally, Scenic Hotel Group celebrates Rebecca Mangan, Management Accountant, and Kathryn Jenkins, People and Culture Manager for earning Highly Commended honours in the Finance Associate and Human Resources Associate categories, respectively. This recognition highlights their dedication and exceptional contributions to the organisation and the hospitality industry.

The Group also congratulated Raj Karekar, Hotel Manager at Scenic Hotel Punakaiki for being shortlisted for the Rising Star Award from over 140 applications. “Raj’s recognition underscores his exceptional leadership and potential within the industry.”

The 2024 HM Awards for Hotel and Accommodation Excellence, recognises personal and company excellence across Australia, New Zealand, and the Pacific. This year’s New Zealand and Pacific Category awards were held on November 1st at the Cordis Hotel in Auckland, where over 1,800 nominations competed across more than 40 categories.
