Hilton Hotels announced today the signing of DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Albert Street, marking the brand’s introduction into the Auckland CBD. The hotel joins Hilton’s portfolio of nine hotels, opened and under construction, in New Zealand and will be the second Hilton property in Auckland city, after Hilton Auckland.
DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Albert Street, owned by Queen Fern Holdings Limited and managed by Hilton, is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023.
“As New Zealand’s main business hub, Auckland is home to many leading local and international businesses,” said Guy Phillips, senior vice president, development, Australasia and Asia. “We are thrilled to be partnering with Queen Fern Holdings Limited to bring another one of Hilton’s award-winning brands to Auckland – DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Albert Street is a fantastic addition to our portfolio and is testament to our commitment to expand our presence in New Zealand.
“The new hotel will be located in the heart of Auckland’s Central Business District, a stone’s throw from Aotea train station and close to many of Auckland’s most iconic landmarks and tourist attractions, including the Sky Tower and Auckland waterfront.
“The new-build hotel is also strategically located within walking distance of the new New Zealand International Convention Centre, which is presently under re construction following a major fire late last year.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Albert Street will offer 231 spacious guest rooms, including two suites, 400 square metres of event and meeting space, a fitness centre as well as an all-day dining restaurant and bar.
“We are very happy to be partnering with Hilton to bring the world-renown DoubleTree by Hilton brand to Auckland city,” said Joe Dong, executive director, Queen Fern Holdings Limited. “The hotel will be in a central and convenient location to welcome both business and leisure travellers who are visiting Auckland.”
DoubleTree by Hilton Auckland Albert Street will join 27 operating and 13 pipeline Hilton properties throughout Australasia. DoubleTree by Hilton Karaka is currently on track to open by Q3 of 2021 with construction ongoing.
