Fans of DIY shows may be lining up for trips to Bunnings across the ditch! The sausage sizzling Saturday destination has announced lovers of the superstore can spend even more time in Bunnings’ hallowed aisles, with construction on a new Bunnings hotel underway in Melbourne.
Planned for 2021, the hotel is a partnership between the hardware store and hotel chain, Mercure.
Construction started in January 2020 on the building in the Melbourne suburb of Doncaster.
The complex will feature a double story Bunnings on the ground with the sleek accommodation on top, giving guests easy access to all their DIY needs.
The building is projected to cost $70 million, with 183 rooms designed to be in spitting distance of the area’s local Westfield shopping centre, and now a hop, skip and jump from any tool they could wish for. The hotel’s website promises guests access to a restaurant, bar, outdoor dining area, fitness centre, and a rooftop swimming pool.
