One of Wellington’s best loved restaurants, Egmont Street Eatery, is setting up a satellite operation at Palliser Estate winery in Martinborough for the upcoming summer months.
Offering bistro style lunch dishes and grazing plates. ‘Egmont at Palliser’ will be serving their trademark culinary menu inspired by the producers and food artisans of the Wairarapa, all created to match Palliser’s wines and to be enjoyed in the park-like surrounds of Palliser’s home vineyard and winery.
From November 19, ‘Egmont at Palliser’ will be open five days a week (Thursday – Monday). The menu will evolve with the season and is designed for the relaxed, summer environment – be it on bean bags on the lawn, shady tables in the courtyard or in the newly renovated dining room.
“Having Egmont here will be a lovely extension to our Cellar Door experience – our wines are made to be enjoyed with food, and what better place than in the surrounds where they’ve been made, matched with dishes from the talented crew at Egmont Street Eatery. We are more than excited about our summer collaboration, ” says Pip Goodwin, Palliser CEO
“Egmont Street Eatery managing director, Simon Pepping said : “We are thrilled to be working alongside Palliser Estate to create a dining experience in Wairarapa like no other. For us it makes perfect sense to work with a like-minded partner whose focus is to showcase their wonderful terroir through thoughtful, quality product. We will be fortunate enough to have a wealth of wonderful suppliers on our doorstep and we can’t wait to forge new relationships and highlight their exceptional produce.”
