The Coffee Club New Zealand opened its second store in Queenstown this week, which is bound to go down well with the brand’s South Island fans. Conveniently located close to Queenstown Events Centre and just a few minutes from the airport, the launch means that both locals and visitors will have more food and drink options than ever before.
Fully licensed, the café offers a large range of hot and cold drinks, along with breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. “We’re very excited to be opening another The Coffee Club in Queenstown. We already have a location in Remarkables Park, which has exceeded expectations – it’s a really popular, buzzy spot,” says Andy Lucas, co-director of The Coffee Club New Zealand. “The Queenstown Central café is a lovely space and the perfect place to catch up with friends and family, whether it is for a quick caffeine fix or a delicious brunch or dinner.”
The new owners, Megan Coombes and Mark Noonan are originally from Australia and started visiting Queenstown 16 years ago. They have always dreamed of opening a business in the area and look forward to welcoming food and coffee lovers into the café.
“It was during a ski trip that we fell in love with the mountains and lakes and decided we were going to live here one day,” explains Megan. “We have always been excited by new challenges and decided to buy a business in Wanaka three years ago. It was finally time to move our young family across the ditch to embrace this wonderful lifestyle.
“When the opportunity to get involved with The Coffee Club came up, we knew we had to jump on it. One of our favourite things over the years, having lived quite remotely, has been driving into town for a coffee and an eggs benny. We can’t wait to welcome people to The Coffee Club, whether it’s for a quiet, relaxing cup of coffee alone or for a fun-filled lunch with their friends and family.”
The Coffee Club opened its first store in New Zealand in 2005, and has grown rapidly, since then, opening new stores all over New Zealand. The Coffee Club strives to be socially and environmentally responsible. This includes using Direct Source coffee from farms to ensure ethically-produced and sustainable coffee.
It offers two types of dining experiences; Cafe stores serve breakfast, light meals, gourmet sandwiches, salads and snacks. While the fully licensed, extended-hour Restaurants provide an all-day menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner options along with chef specials and full table service. A range of hot and cold beverages, including The Coffee Club signature coffee blend, cakes, biscuits and other sweets are available in all stores.
