Lakeside Apartments in Wanaka takes the trivago best accommodation award again!
Wanaka’s Lakeside Apartments has been rated by travellers as the best accommodation in New Zealand in the trivago Awards 2017. The hotel has won top spot for two consecutive years. Dunedin’s Bluestone on George ranked second and the Millbrook Resort in Arrowtown came third for the second year in a row. Close behind Millbrook was The Sail Nelson in Nelson and The Pillars Retreat in Taupo.
Northland’s Kerikeri has stepped up from second best rated destination to take the top destination award for accommodation while Martinborough (Wellington region) and Canterbury’s Hamner Springs have taken second and third places respectively.
Each year trivago analyses rating and reviews of hotels across New Zealand to find which hotels have the best ratings from travellers and which destinations have the highest rated hotels. The awards are based on 175 million ratings from over 250 booking sites worldwide. Any hotel or accommodation featured on trivago with over a hundred reviews can be included in the trivago awards. Only destinations with a minimum of 10 hotels and five hundred reviews are included in the awards and the ratings data is based on live figures as at September 2016.
