In time for the festive season, Riccadonna proudly introduces its new Prosecco now available to supermarkets, liquor stores and bars/restaurants nationwide.
As a D.O.C. (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) wine, Riccadonna Prosecco is made exclusively with Prosecco grapes produced in the designated Prosecco area between Conegliano Veneto and Valdibbiadene in the Veneto region of Italy, Riccadonna Prosecco is a light and refreshing drink that’s perfect for celebrations, summer barbeques and casual drinks with friends and family.
In Italy, Prosecco is enjoyed as a sparkling wine for every occasion. Outside Italy it is most often enjoyed as an aperitif, or in mixed drinks. Prosecco was the original ingredient in the Bellini cocktail invented in the 1930s by Giuseppe Cipriani, founder of the famous Harry’s Bar in Venice, Italy. Named after Venetian artist Giovanni Bellini, it is considered to be one of the best sparkling cocktails in the world. Alternatively, mixed with Aperol, soda water and fresh orange, Prosecco is an ingredient in an Aperol Spritz, another Italian favourite that can be found on the cocktail menu of celebrity hangouts including Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood!
Vanessa Di Gianni, Brand Manager-Wine at Lion said, “Prosecco has enjoyed huge success in the UK and American markets and we expect to see the trend continue here. One of the reasons for its popularity is its versatility. It can be enjoyed on its own, as an aperitif, or as the basis for a delicious cocktail such as the world-renowned Bellini”.
Lighter in alcohol than traditional champagnes with an ABV of 11%, Riccadonna Prosecco has distinct flavours of fruit in particular citrus and a delicate aroma. Pairing well with seafood, poultry, cheese boards and fresh fruit, Riccadonna Prosecco is perfect for any occasion.
Riccadonna Prosecco is now available in supermarkets and liquor stores across New Zealand.
