TFE Hotels and The Accommodation Association of Australia have committed to creating further employment opportunities in regional Victoria. TFE Hotels are contributing to the regeneration of the town of Marysville by hosting a recruitment day for Vibe Hotel Marysville, on 3 December, at Marysville Community Centre.
Vibe Hotel Marysville, located 90 minutes from Melbourne, is set to open in January 2015 and will provide many new local career opportunities.
Rachel Argaman, CEO of TFE Hotels said: “We are honoured to play a key role in the revitalisation of this stunning part of regional Victoria. We have been working very closely with the Victorian Government to complete the hotel which will support the community, enhance local businesses and in turn create additional local career opportunities.”
Accommodation Association of Australia, of which TFE Hotels is a member, are set to launch a training initiative in the region to assist potential candidates to become ‘job ready’ and enhance their opportunities for employment. An essential part of the training will be classroom based theory and on the job training within the local community and employers in the region, which could result in a career at Vibe Hotel Marysville.
Richard Munro, CEO of the AAoA said “The AAoA Academy, through industry consultation, has developed an initiative to give candidates who are seeking employment and a career in our sector key skills to gain employment. The Academy has run several programs in Queensland and Victoria with great success. The Marysville initiative is another example of what the AAoA Academy is out to achieve for our members and job seekers. The support of TFE Hotels and local organisations is testimony to how the AAoA and our industry is working together to support employment outcomes”
The new 4.5 star hotel will feature 101 rooms and conferencing and associated spaces for up to 300 people, a new restaurant Radius Bar & Grill, as well as recreational facilities for guests including an outdoor pool and gymnasium and a spa and wellness facility.
Marysville once boasted eight licenced venues and 3000 tourist beds. Following the bush fires, the township now operates 1000 beds with two licenced premises open three nights a week. Resilient business owners say they are positive about the future of their town, which is once again green, and ready to welcome visitors to the area.
